Dorothy Jane (Braswell) Lott

Dorothy Jane (Braswell) Lott, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, entered her heavenly home on October 19, 2017. She was a member of Graceland Baptist Church and loved to read and study the Bible and Christ's teachings, and was devoted to and loved her family.

Dorothy was born on June 13, 1932, in Bastrop, Louisiana, to the late Johnnie L., Sr., and Clara E. (Smith) Braswell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Juanita Gray (Keith), Evelyn Jumper (A.D.), and Johnny Braswell, Jr. (Linda).

She is survived by her loving husband, David W. Lott; children, David E. Lott (Sherrill) and Delene E. Taylor (Michael); three grandchildren, Isaac, Lara, and Hanna; four great-grandsons; and sisters, E. Kathaleen Reid (Dan) and Dorris Brown (Maurice).

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home-Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A service celebrating Dorothy's life will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens in New Albany, Indiana.
