Dorothy Lee (Grether) Erdman

Dorothy Lee "Dee Dee" Erdman, 76, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Dee Dee retired as a special needs teacher aide at Jeffersonville High School and was a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association. She was a talented cake decorator and former instructor at Wilton Cakes. Dee Dee had also been very involved in 4-H, serving as a leader, officer, cake judge, and instructor.

She was born on November 13, 1945, in New Albany, Indiana, to Charles and Dorothy (Maier) Grether. In addition to her parents, Dee Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Erdman; and sister, Pat Orman.

Dee Dee is survived by her children, Bobbi Balmer (Carl), Kevin Erdman (Jebby), Karen Overberg, and Tommy Erdman; sisters-in-law, Margie Drake (Bruce) and Susie Birk (Jim); brother-in-law, Dave Orman; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A reception of family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her memorial service taking place at 4:00 p.m.
