Dorlas Mae Walls

Dorlas Mae Walls, age 86, passed away on September 18, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 31, 1939, in Meade County, Kentucky, and lived a life centered on love, devotion, and family.

On October 18, 1969, Dorlas married the love of her life, John. Their marriage was a lasting testament to companionship and commitment, and together they built a family that remained the heart of her world. Dorlas was proud to be a stay-at-home wife and mother. Caring for her family was her pride and joy, and she considered it the best work God provided her.

She found happiness in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. Dorlas enjoyed camping trips with her family, gardening, antiques, trips to the casino, and crafting. These interests reflected her warmth, her creativity, and the joy she took in sharing time and memories with those she loved most.

Dorlas will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, John Walls; her children, Angela Baker, Ronnette (Bill) Williams, Deanne (Dale) McMahan, Tina Calautti, and Jeff Nance; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brothers, Earl (Rita) Seelye and Dale (Victoria) Seelye, along with her sister-in-law Barbara Seelye. Dorlas also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She leaves behind a family circle held together by the care, strength, and love she gave so generously throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nellie Seelye; her sons, John Michael Walls and Ronald Nance; and her brother, Johnny Seelye. Their memories remained a cherished part of her life and story.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, Indiana 47150. The funeral service will begin there at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery on St. Johns Road, Borden, Indiana 47106.

Dorlas Mae Walls will be remembered for the love she poured into her home, the care she gave to her family, and the quiet, steady way she made life brighter for those around her. Her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved her.
