Doris R. Thompson

Doris R. Thompson , 89, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 due to complications from Covid-19. She was born on April 5, 1931 in Caldwell County, Kentucky to the late Paul and Violet Rowland. She was a member of Valley Station Baptist Church for over 50 years. She worked various jobs, but her favorite was working at the airport driving a Hertz shuttle bus.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Richard "RB" Thompson; 5 brothers, William Rowland, Joseph Rowland, Ben Rowland, Larry Rowland and John Rowland; and 2 sisters, Phyllis Rowland and Gloria Wadlington.

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Bonnie Wade, Gary Thompson, Linda Thompson and Cindy Brooks; grandchildren, Robert Wade, Joseph Wade, Phillip Thompson and Elizabeth Brooks; 5 great-grandchildren, Tristan Wade, Brandon Wade, Tyler Thompson, Jaydon Thompson and Makayla Thompson; siblings, Betty Stroube, Judy Russell, and Brenda Ladd, and sister-in-law, Kelly Rowland.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home with to follow in Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 12:00 pm CST (1:00 pm EST)
