Doris Faye "Dottie" Stollings

Doris Faye "Dottie" Stollings, age 74 of Shelbyville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.  Doris was born on November 29, 1951 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Robert and Vivian Wellman Spears.  She graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School in 1969 and Marshall University School of Nursing in 1984.  She was a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse at Cabell Huntington Hospital from 1984 to 2017.  She married the love of her life, William E. Stollings on September 23, 1972 in Kenova, West Virginia.  William sadly passed away February 10, 2023.

Dottie's beliefs in the Word of God directly through scriptures and not of that of man's cast her as non-denominational, however her faith was rock solid, with confidence in where she stood with our Creator, Jesus Christ.  

Dottie was a Christian strong in her faith and relationship with God, finding great joy in the arrival of God's Kingdom here on earth (Rev 21:2-4).Many describe her as loving, selfless, devoted and caring, a dedicated nurse, mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend. She will always be loved by those who knew her and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dottie was preceded in death by her son, Robert Michael Stollings; and her devoted fur-baby and companion, Roxie Mae.

Dottie leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Jeffrey William Stollings and Sidney Renee McGavic (Ronald); five grandchildren, Shelby Blevins, Anthony Stollings (Kayley), Dustin Stollings, Jesse Brickenstein (Barry) and Tony Blevins; great-grandchildren, Murphy and Cecilia Salisbury, Anthony Wayne Stollings, Orion, Jupiter and Apollo Brickenstein; many nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
