Doris M. (Cockerel) Snodgrass

Doris M. (Cockerel) Snodgrass, 89, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Doris was a faithful member of Parkwood Church of the Nazerene in Clarksville where she enjoyed being a Sunday school teacher. She loved yard sales, gardening, camping, fishing, and going to the Derby Dinner Playhouse. Doris had a passion for taking care of others and will be remembered for being a great friend to all that she knew.

She was born on September 9, 1930, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late John and Hazel (Seelye) Cockerel. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Snodgrass; daughter, Felecia Curry; son, Allan Snodgrass; 2 infant sons; 2 infant daughters; brother, Reuben Cockerel; and sister, Lorene VanHoy.

Doris is survived by her children, Bobbie Yaste, Stiles (Louise) Cruse, Roger (Sue) Cruse, and Shelby (Melissa) Snodgrass; grandchildren, Leslie McDowell, Shellie Goemmer, David Cruse, James Cruse, Alisha Long, Samantha Snodgrass, Zachery Snodgrass, Bradley Reed, Jamey Curry, Shauna Williams, and Allan Snodgrass; 28 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; and her special niece, Ruth Ann Schaaf.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Additional Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Her Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
