Doris Jean Phillips departed this life on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Doris Jean was born March 1,1937, to the late Reverend Lewis and Dorothy Emery.
Doris was a graduate of Central High School class of 1955. She was an avid Louisville Cardinal fan and was a devoted worker at Southern Optical for years. Doris loved cooking and baking. She loved her Little Flock Church and family, as we all can remember her always saying "I wouldn't have a religion I couldn't feel." She whole heartily loved her family and would come for you if you didn't.
Doris leaves to mourn her daughters, Linda Fuqua, Deborah Harper and Sharon (Elaine) Smith; grandchildren, Herbert McCray, Lakisha Harper, Yvonne Blakey, Larry Fuqua Jr, PaTisha Smith and Shannon Smith; great-grandchildren, Kayla McCray, Nautica Harper, Takira Dixon,Brionna McCray, Demarion McCray, Kamari Harper, Emery Young, Maurice Blakey Jr, and Skylar Griffin; one great-great-grandchild, Kamani Mae, as well as many friends and co-workers.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church, 1030 S Hancock St, Louisville, KY, from 2pm-4pm with a celebration of Doris's life beginning at 4pm.
