Doris Ann (Blotz) Mcdonner

Doris Ann (Blotz) McDonner, 71, of Concord, North Carolina, formerly of Elizabeth, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018, at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, North Carolina. She was an active member of the Mallard Creek Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, until her illness.

Doris was born on January 5, 1946, in Elizabeth, Indiana, to the late Victor and Anna Belle (Hedden) Blotz. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Roger Blotz.

Doris is survived by her husband of 36 years, Steve McDonner; daughters, Erin Derr and Megan Schevey (Armin); son, Pat McDonner (Jennifer); 6 grandchildren, with one more to arrive in April; and brother, Darryl Blotz (Debbie).

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Newcomer-Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Ceremony will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at DePauw United Methodist Church Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Gate Pregnancy Resource Center (3824 Highway 49, South Harrisburg, North Carolina 28075), ALS Association (#4 North Blount Street, #200, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601), or Urban Ministry Center for the Homeless (945 North College Street, Charlotte, North Carolina 28206).
