Doris Jean Chapman, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away in Louisville on November 5, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on December 3, 1941, in Louisville, where she began a life that would be marked by devotion to family, enjoyment of simple pleasures, and many happy memories made with those she loved.

Doris retired from Louisville Tile, where she served as accounts receivable manager. She was known for the steady commitment she brought to her work over the years, and retirement opened the way for more time spent doing the things she most enjoyed.

She found joy in many familiar routines and favorite pastimes. Doris enjoyed playing at Derby City Gaming and bingo at Greenwood Bingo Hall. At home, she liked watching crime shows and keeping up with the news on television. She also loved dogs, whose companionship brought her happiness.

Some of Doris’s most cherished times were those spent with her grandchildren. She loved taking them to the lake house at Nolin Lake and on trips to Tennessee, creating memories that will remain with them for years to come. She enjoyed being out on the water, water skiing, tubing, and driving the boat on the lake, embracing the fun and freedom of those days with enthusiasm.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, J. Franklin Chapman, and by her daughter, Frances Marie Chapman. Their memory remained an important part of her life and of the family story she carried forward.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Tylan Livingston, Ashley Livingston, Aubree Weizenegger, and Kenyon Weizenegger; her great-grandson, Zeon Kirksey; her sister-in-law, Peggy Key; her nephew, Mark Walker; and her nieces, Jenna Walker and Emily Walker. She leaves them the gift of shared experiences, enduring love, and the remembrance of a woman who delighted in time together, especially with her family.

Doris Jean Chapman will be remembered with love by those who knew her and by the family who will continue to hold her close in their hearts.
