Doris Ann Bartee, 59, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to her beloved mother, Katie Mae Evans, who preceded her in death.
Doris was a woman of faith, strength, and extraordinary style. Her faith was not just something she spoke about, it was something she lived daily through kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for others.
An entrepreneur at heart, Doris began sewing as a teenager and turned her gift into a lifelong passion. She proudly owned and operated A Tailoring Nook for 20 years, where she built more than a business — she built relationships. She was always dressed to impress and took pride in helping others look and feel their very best. Whether she was tailoring a garment or offering words of encouragement, she made people feel confident, beautiful, and valued.
Doris loved cooking, attending church, sewing, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was fun, bubbly, and full of life. She was loving, caring, supportive, patient, selfless, and understanding. A hard-working and passionate woman, she gave her all to everything she did. Her presence could light up a room, and her warmth made everyone feel at home.
Left to honor and cherish her beautiful life is her devoted partner, Derrick Hannon; her loving daughters, Charlee Merriweather, Breanna Merriweather, and Porsche Merriweather; her precious grandchildren, Julius Kennedy Jr., Jahleel Merriweather, Carlee Merriweather, and Bre’elle Anderson; her brothers Connie Evans Jr., Fred Bartee, Albert Bartee, and Glen Adams. She also leaves behind extended family, friends, church family, and countless individuals whose lives were touched by her love and generosity.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 11am-1pm at HOPE Ministries, 408 South 24th Street, Louisville, KY, 40212, with a celebration of Doris's life beginning at 1pm.
Her legacy of faith, strength, elegance, and unconditional love will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever carried in our hearts.
