Dora Denny Fritts, 100, of Topeka, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022.
She was born March 22, 1922, in Harveyville, Kansas, the daughter of Clifford and Blanche (Kopp) Denny. She graduated from Harveyville Rural High School. Dora was a secretary for the City of Topeka Building Inspection Department for eight years. She attended Highland Park United Methodist Church. She was very involved with her boys activities, from attending their sporting events to serving as a den mother while they were in Cub Scouts. Dora was an amazing seamstress and enjoyed making her own clothes.
On March 3, 1946, she married John M. Fritts in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne and sister, Clara. Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Bonnie) Fritts and Larry (Lesli) Fritts; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 2pm Saturday, October 22, 2022 followed by funeral services at 3pm all at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka. Private interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Cir, Topeka, KS 66606.
