Donna Theiss Hosse

Donna Theiss Hosse passed away the morning of October 29, 2025 of acute kidney and liver failure. She was born on May 31, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky and was the middle daughter of the late George and Gina Theiss.

Donna graduated from Louisville's Durrett High School in 1973. She retired from Frito Lay in 1998 and was a member of Teamster's Local 89. Donna later worked for Home Instead, Inc., dealing primarily with their dementia and Alzheimer clients. Donna was a member of DAV Auxiliary Chapter 6 and of the Eastern Star (Queen Ester Chapter #1). She attended the Louisville Emmaus Walk #162.

Donna previously served on the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity, the Neighborhood Place, Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Buechel Methodist Church, where she volunteered to help with their shut-ins. She completed Bellarmine University's "Medicaid Nurse Aid Program".

Donna Theiss Hosse is survived by her husband of 41 years, Paul Hosse, along with siblings, nephews, nieces and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents George W. Theiss and Gina Lee Johnson, a sister, Nancy Hunt, her aunt, Edith Johnson, as well as Donna's beloved German Shepherd, "Gretchen". In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Donna's name. A special "thank you" to the wonderful ICU staff at Audubon Hospital, especially Adam and Matthew. A private Memorial Service to be announced at a later date.
