Donna J. Hall

Donna J. Hall, formerly known as Scheer, passed away on November 2, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on August 7, 1941, in Louisville, and remained deeply connected to the city throughout her life.

Donna graduated from Southern High School in Louisville. She was a woman whose presence left a lasting impression on those around her. She brightened any room she walked into, and her genuine nature and unwavering way of being herself made her especially beloved. Family meant everything to her, and that devotion was felt by all who knew her.

Her faith was an important part of her life. Donna loved going to church and was at Maple Grove Baptist Church almost every Sunday. She also found joy in simple and comforting routines. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading, and she especially loved sitting in her rocking chair on her front porch, listening to her wind chimes. Those quiet moments reflected the warmth and peace she carried with her.

Among her greatest joys was being a great-Nana to Gracelynn, a role she treasured deeply and embraced with love.

Donna is survived by her grandsons, Joshua Wathen (Cayleigh), Logan Wathen, and Corey Wathen; by her great-granddaughter, Gracelynn Wathen; by her brother, Donnie Scheer; and by her son-in-law, Donnie Wathen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Hall, and by her daughter, Lauren Renee Wathen. The love Donna shared with her family will continue to live on in their hearts and in the many memories they hold dear.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40272. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville. A graveside service will then be held at 12:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.

Donna will be remembered for her faith, her warmth, her authenticity, and the deep love she gave to her family. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
