Donna Alice (Griffin) Chambers

Donna Alice (Griffin) Chambers, 95, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. She was a longtime member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church. Donna was extremely proud of her West Virginia heritage. One of her fondest memories was the cross-country trip she and her husband took to Alaska in 1992. Donna enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and also fishing.
She was born on March 4, 1926, in Spencer, West Virginia, to R.B. and Alice (Lloyd) Griffin. Donna was also preceded in death by her husband, William Chambers; daughter, Donna Hoback; and siblings, Verda Bush, and William, Ralph, Glenn, and Buford "Boots" Griffin.
Donna is survived by her son, Gary Chambers (Mary); sister, Eloise Wayne; grandchildren, Robert Wilson (fiancée, Amanda), Peter Chambers, and Rebecca Wells (Nick); and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Reagan, and Lila Chambers, Ryne and Riley Vinyard, Kierston and Kayleigh Wells, Addalyn Wilson, and Madison Rogers.
A celebration of her life will be announced later this year. Donna will be laid to rest privately beside her husband at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Contributions in her memory may be made to Eastern Heights Baptist Church (4202 Helen Road, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
