Donald Eugene Wigginton

Donald Eugene Wigginton, died Thursday February 16, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital East in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. He was born on May 9, 1942 in Louisville and was the son of the late William T. and Mary K. Wigginton. He worked 30 1/2 years for Standard Gravure until the closing of the downtown plant in 1992. In 1993 Don's family joined him after he found work in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky area. He remained in the printing industry until his retirement in 2006.

Don loved fishing on his boat, camping, photography and spending time with his family and friends at his lake house. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Dawn Wigginton; a sister, Patricia Lynn Britt and a brother, Steven Ray Wigginton.

Don is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy E. Hare Wigginton; two daughters, Angel Michele Moore (fiancé, Doug Caudill) and Shannon Lea Wedig (Ryan); three grandchildren, Mikaylee Moore, Sean Wedig and Colin Wedig; one nephew, William Steven Britt (Karan) and numerous cousins.

A service to celebrate his life will be conducted Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Wednesday February 22, 2017 from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
