Donald Joseph Wheatley

Donald Joseph Wheatley, 81, passed away on June 22, 2021. He was a born-again Christian who served as a trumpeter in the Marine Corp Band from 1959 to 1962. Don's passion was music, which he passed down to his children. He would light up when he heard talented musicians play and loved to share stories about his many adventures playing in the Marine Corp. band, church productions and other venues.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth A. and Lillian M. Wheatley; sister, Janet Wilson and brother, Richard Wheatley.

Don leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 59 years, Joann M. Wheatley; children, Theresa L. (John) Herd, Donald A. (Rosemary) Wheatley and Rhonda L. (Quincy) Miller; grandchildren, Josiah Wheatley, Isaac Davis, Jaran Wheatley, Emily Ellison, Morgan Miller and Clayton Miller; great-grandchildren, Lily Ellison, Alex Ellison and Emberly Davis; brother, Mervin "Slim" Wheatley and numerous nieces and nephews.

To be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central, Radcliff, KY.
