Donald Wayne Sowder

Donald Wayne Sowder, 68, of Sellersburg, IN was called home on Monday, January 19, 2015. Donald was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and had worked for SP Recycling for many years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, going to the casino boat, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 29, 1960 to Marion and Reba (Arnold) Sowder.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Vicky Lynn (Bryson) Sowder; children, Melissa Sowder, Becky Sowder, Michael Sowder and Melissa Raymond(Billy); sister, Cathy Sterling, mother-in-law, Doris Bryson, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Service will be on Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the American Cancer Society (701 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40203).
