Donald R. Stiller, 89, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026. His life was a testament to hard work, creativity, and a deep connection to the land.
From his earliest days, he found joy and pride in farming while raising strawberries and vegetables. In his youth, Donald’s commitment to agriculture led him to join the Future Farmers of America while in high school, marking the beginning of a lifelong dedication to craftsmanship and community. He brought that same determination to his career, dedicating 30 years to Ford Motor Company. After retiring, he embraced new projects with the same spirit he had always shown, enjoying retired life to the fullest.
A talented craftsman, Donald excelled at woodworking and took great pleasure in making things with his own hands. His talent extended further-he built homes and took on remodeling projects, always striving to improve and beautify his surroundings. His creativity also found expression in myriad crafts, each reflecting his care and attention to detail.
He was born on January 23, 1937 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late Raymond Stiller and Cordelia Kinberger Stiller. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Martha Jean Litwinowicz and her husband, Red; his son-in-law, William Pace; the mother of his children, Shirley Stiller; and his dear friends, Jerry Smith and Donnie Schladant.
Donald is survived by his children, Donald Wayne Stiller, Denise (Theodore) Ems, Danette Brown, Dana Pace, Darrell Stiller, Darin Miles, and Derek Stiller; grandchildren, Allison (Randy), Ashley (Scott), Beau (Whitney), Evan (Aby), Connor (Chloe), Gregory (Ashley), Gweneth, and Graiden; great-grandchildren, Brecke and Stormy; sister, Rita (Paul) Davis; brother, Leon (Judy) Stiller; his special friends, Ken and JoAnn Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, cherished neighbors and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 pm on Friday, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest privately at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Cemetery.
