Donald "Rick" Preston, 72, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017. Rick was a faithful member of Cook Memorial United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville where he served in many different roles.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 28, 1945, to the late Francis and Ina (Sadler) Preston. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd "Timmy" Preston.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Carol Preston; children, Melissa Preston, Robert Preston, Tina Preston, and Chris McMillen; sister, Sharon Preston; brother, Mike Preston; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; his faithful feline friends, Ladybug and Baby; and will be affectionately remembered as "PooPaw" by his granddaughter, Regan.
A Memorial Gathering will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will then follow at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Rick's wishes.
