Donald Ray McQuilling, 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022. The epitome of strength, he fought countless battles through the years, all the while hiding his pain. His love and dedication to his family knew no boundaries. He was a wonderful, dedicated and loving husband, and the only man to catch mom's heart. He always went above and beyond to take care of those around him. The great love for his kids and grandkids was second to none. An avid hunter and fisherman, he always tried to pass on the tools and wisdom to survive. There will never be another. Gone, but not forgotten...
He was born on September 14, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to Ray and Tulip (Dennison) McQuilling. He is preceded in death by his father, Ray McQuilling; mother, Tulip McQuilling; brother, Ronald Lynn McQuilling; and son-in-law, Hubert Taylor Asbury.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia McQuilling; daughter, Lisa Marie Asbury; son, David Brian (Christine) McQuilling; son, Mark Wayne (Kylie) McQuilling; grandchildren, Matthew Asbury, Sabrina Tackett, Madison McQuilling, Kara McQuilling, Julie McQuilling; great-grandchildren, Taylor Tackett, Serenity Asbury; sister-in-law, Debbie Lappin; brother, Pat Egan; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
