Donald L. Dennison

Dennison, Donald "Donnie" L., 62, a native of Louisville and a resident of Clarkson, KY, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 due to a motor vehicle accident.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jowell and Geneva (Bennett) Dennison; brother, Cornell Dennison; and son, Donald Scott Dennison.
Mr. Dennison was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring as a 3rd class Petty Officer with an honorable discharge. His professional career was in sales. He retired in 2013.

He is survived by his son, Corey Lee Dennison; grandchildren, Hunter Lee Dennison, Candance Marie Wynn, his beloved dog, Buster; siblings, Sandra Dennison of Louisville, KY; Caroline Sanders (Paul) of Louisville, KY; LaVonn Dennison-Bules (Charles) of Carlsbad, CA; Shelia Holland (Tim) of Shepherdsville, KY; Keith Sanders (Linda) of Apison, TN; and Stephen Sanders of Mt. Washington, KY. Mr. Dennison is also survived by his most treasured friend, Tim Blain (Melissa), with whom he enjoyed some of the best times of his life.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home-Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272), with a memorial service to follow at 12 p.m.

A private ceremony will be held at sea in San Diego, California, where Donnie served most of his time during his Navy career. This will be conducted by his dearest sister, LaVonn and her husband, Chuck at a later date.
