Donald William Hamilton

Donald William "Don" Hamilton, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He retired from General Electric after 30 plus years of service. Don attended many Bible studies at Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, and attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Albany. Don was a United States Army veteran. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed traveling and photography.

Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Kirchgessner, Mildred Schellenberger, Charles Hamilton, Barbara Hutchins, and James Hamilton. Don was born on February 16, 1943, in New Albany, Indiana, to Arlesta and Laura "Alice" (Daly) Hamilton. He is survived by his loving children, Stacey Nance (Jeremy) and Troy Hancock (Claudine); his siblings, Martha "Dewey" Russ, Teresa Glasgow, Robert Hamilton, and Dorothy Tidmore; 5 grandchildren, Allie, Jordan, Jaden, Aynsley, and Elliot; along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation on Friday, December 2, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St Jude's Research Hospital (P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis,Tennessee 38148) and Home of the Innocents (485 East Gray Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202).
