Our dad has left for parts unknown and is now reunited with our mother, our brother, his parents, his brother and his sister. Dad tried to live by the Golden Rule and the Ten Commandments.
He retired many years ago from General Electric and DuPont. He was a proud and long time member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians. He also laid claim to many things, among them: gardener, movie buff, politic pontiff, cartoonist, patriot, avid lover of most genres of music, book collector, history buff, a Kentucky Colonel, and Honorary Captain of the Belle of Louisville.
A lover of MGD, Mazzoni's rolled oysters, large, hot soft pretzels, mom's blueberry cheesecakes and pecan pies, courage, kindness, and generosity …. hated selfishness …. had a deep love for his wife, his children, grandchildren, his siblings, their spouses and his friends.
Also had a great admiration of Horatius and Abou Ben Adhem and was an honored graduate of Blarney University with a BS in BS.
Dad was a larger than life personality like no other. Never hesitant to have his opinion heard, he made sure everyone else knew how he felt about pretty much everything (ha, ha !!).
He was a giver, always willing to help everyone in need. Unconditional love was one of the many calling cards he possessed.
A truly great man, an even greater father, role model and a friend who could be counted on. His absence here on this Earth has created a hole in so many hearts, a hole that can never be filled.
Rest easy, dad, while we all savor the time we had with you. We are so proud, honored and blessed to have had you for so long in our lives.
We would also like to express our love and appreciation to the wonderful staff of the Nazareth Home who provided dad with excellent care and companionship in the last two and a half years. Special thanks go out to Tabetha, Katrina, Kisha, Esther, Denise, Shannon, Crystal, Bridget, Casey, Roz, Lita, Danielle, Connie, Adrianna, Kim, Melanie, Pam, Tiffany, Lynn, Tom, all of the Jennifers, Sister Rose who prayed for him daily, and any others we have accidentally omitted.
Preceded in death by his wife Deloris, his son Steve, his parents, Melvin and Vioda, sister, Janice, and brother, Wayne.
Survivors include son, Timothy (Wanda), daughter, Vanessa, grandchildren, Evan (Courtney), Marissa (Justin), brothers, Father Joseph Fowler, Mike (Donna), and Denny, sisters, Barbara Dukes (Harold) and Lorrie Peake (Drew).

the same; But as God calls us
one by one the chain
will link again.
