Donald Morris Condor, 83 years old, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away after a 20 year battle with cancer. Don was a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany. He was selected for the honor flight to Washington DC in the fall of 2016. This was one of the highlights in his life, after the birth of his children and grandchildren.
Don was a mechanical engineer. He designed and oversaw construction of many projects across the US from gasoline stations, air inflated buildings, to tobacco handling equipment. Don was known as a man who knew his jobs and did them well. He was also thought of as quite a character by both his co-workers and old navy buddies. He retired in 1999.
Don is survived by his wife of 58 years Georgia O'Donnell Condor; his sister Susie Hill; his two sons Donald Jr. (Robyn) and David (DeeDee); his three grandchildren Ian, Sean, and Lucy (Stacy); and two great grand-children Sirius and Sam.
The family will be holding a private service. Expressions of sympathy can be made in his memory to Hosparus Louisville or to the Honor Flight-Bluegrass Chapter.
