Donald Ray Chasteen, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
He was born on September 1, 1936 in , Kentucky to the late Stanley and Maud (Rue) Chasteen. He is also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Paige G. Chasteen, brother in law, Judson M. Brake, III, sister Janice Kammerman, brother Stanley Chasteen, Jr and sister-in-law Martha Chasteen.
Don graduated from Henry Clay High School Class of 1954 and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1955 until he 1959. He then received a bachelors degree from the University of Kentucky in 1965. Don was President of the Kentucky JayCee's from 1972 until 1973.
Don was a member of Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church and retired as the Director of Public Relations from the Kentucky Medical Association after 25 years of service.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nanci L. Chasteen, son, Mark A. Chasteen, daughter, Dana Warrell (Jason), and grandson, Hunter Warrell. Don is also survived by his brother-in-law John Kammerman, sister-in-law Paula Chapman, nieces Leigh Ann Welch (Rick), Rhonda Lawson (Tony), nephews, Dorsey Chasteen (Brenda) and Paul Chapman.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church (311 Browns Lane, Louisville, KY 40207).
The family requests that contributions in Don's memory be made to Hospice of Louisville and/or the Palliative Care Unit at Baptist Hospital East.
