Donald Roystan Bostic Jr. of Jacksonville Florida, passed away peacefully at the McGraw Community Hospice Center with his family by his side on December 3rd, 2021 after a prolonged bout with cancer.
Don was born July 13, 1948 to his parents Donald Roystan Bostic and Mary Jayne Bostic in New Albany, Indiana. He was raised in Southern Indiana and Louisville, with his brothers Pat Bostic, Mike Bostic, and sister Cathy Hussung. After school he enrolled in the Air Force and later had a long career in sales where he used his sharp wit and interpersonal skills to build a career. He and his family moved to Jacksonville in 1985. He could make a connection with anyone and truly enjoyed meeting new people while also maintaining old friendships.
Don enjoyed a good joke (none of which could be printed here), cold beer, fast cars, playing golf with friends, finishing the Sunday crossword, lifting weights, reading historical fiction, watching old western movies, grilling on the back porch and cheering on his beloved Louisville Cardinals basketball team. He didn't have patience or tolerance for new technology, ignorance, or slow drivers.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 45 years Denise Bostic and a proud champion and supporter of their only son Donald Bostic III.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Don and Mary Jayne Bostic and his brother Pat Bostic. He is survived by his wife, Denise, son Donald, grandchildren Daphne and Andy, mother-in-law Hurtha Hull, and his siblings Mike and Cathy.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150) with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 am at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made in his name to Community Hospice & Palliative Care - https://www.communityhospice.com/.
