Dolores Von Allmen

August 7, 1932 — June 24, 2015

Dolores June (Rucker) Von Allmen, 82, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Salem, Indiana. She loved to travel and write, which led her to become a published author. Dolores was a school bus driver for the New Albany/Floyd County School System for 41 years. She also spent time as the secretary for the Floyd County Republican Party.

She is survived by her children, Susan Keith (Tom), Barbara Foster (Michael), David Von Allmen (Jackie), & Karen Martin (Herb); grandchildren, Joseph (Holli), Victoria (Shawn), Amy (Michael), Melody (Matt), Dustin, Joshua (Christina), Matthew (Ashleigh), & Kennis (Megan); and 10 great grandchildren. Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, T. "Jack" Von Allmen; parents, Irvin & Chlora (Truman) Rucker; sister, Nancy Mattevi (Victor).

A Memorial Visitation will be from 12 PM to 6 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Memorial Service will take place at 2 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Atkins Chapel United Methodist Church (7834 Atkins Rd, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) . Cremation was chosen following Dolores' wishes.
