Dolores Ann "Dee" (Naville) Spitznagel, 96, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, where she was involved in the Prime Timers and Daughters of Isabella. Dee was also a member of the K of C Ladies Auxiliary, AARP, and the Clarksville Historical Society. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Jeffersonville Community Kitchen and RSVP.
She was a selfless woman, who worked hard and loved unconditionally, every day of her life. Her gentle nature and forgiving heart garnered her many friends throughout her life. Dee's greatest attribute was her devotion to her large family, which brought to her endless joy. Dee had a strong desire to serve God through service to others that was evident by the numerous hospitality ministries in which she served. She was always there to lend a helping hand or extend a word of kindness to anyone in need.
Dee was born on May 29, 1925, in Navilleton, Indiana, to Edward and Clara (Smith) Naville. In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Frank Spitznagel, Jr.; siblings, Servanus, Bernard, and Robert Naville, and Mary Freiberger Becht; daughter-in-law, Patricia Spitznagel; son-in-law, David Fisher; and granddaughter, Stacie Ellen Block.
She is survived by her sons, Gary, Rick (Marcy), Danny (Terri), and Frank Spitznagel III; daughters, Carol Fisher (Kim), Susie Block (Danny, Sr.), Kathy Coleman (Brad), Mary Lu Fisher, Debby Reiter (Kelvin), and Sandy Herman (Tom); 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Irene Naville; and brothers-in-law, Jack Spitznagel (Pauline) and Joe Spitznagel (Doris).
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (316 N. Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville) with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
