Dolores "Dolly" Gloria Rourke, 86, passed away on September 29, 2021 in Louisville, KY.
She was born on October 15, 1934 in Hartford, CT to the late Etienne "Babe" and Clara Richard.
Dolly was raised in Lowell and Tyngsboro, MA. After marrying Joseph Rourke in 1954, she moved to Gardner, MA to raise her family until relocating to Louisville, KY in 1977.
She is survived by her five children, Gloria (Dave) Duff, Thomas (Marley) Rourke, Donna (Paul) Doiron, Nancy Rourke, and Timothy (Beth Ann) Rourke; her twin sisters Anita Suprenant of Tyngsboro, MA and Diana Aucutt of Lansdale, PA; one brother, Robert Richard of Dracut, MA; 16 grandchildren, James (Lisa) and Nicholas (Robyn) Doiron, Joanna (Robert) Adams, Brian (Larissa), Dan, Douglas (Angela), Patrick, Thomas, Alan (Cassie), Kelly and Kate Duff, Riley (Ryan) Marshal, Kristine (Matt) Reinhardt, Joey Rourke, Chris Rourke; and 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She is welcomed into Heaven, by her husband, Joseph; grandson, Craig Doiron; and sisters, Pauline Coulter and Patricia Boulard who preceded her in death.
Dolly was a skilled seamstress and was well-known for her sewing of Award Jacket lettering around Louisville many years ago, and also began quilting at 78 years of age for which she was very proud.
Dolly lived at Storypoint Senior Living. She will be missed by her Storypoint friends with whom she shared her life in these past few years, and her many witty retorts that shall be forever remembered.
A service to celebrate Dolly's life will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 5:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions (235 Juneau Drive). The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
