Dolores Ann (Miller) Popp

Dolores Ann (Miller) Popp, 89, of Bennettsville, Indiana, passed away Sunday evening, July 9, 2017. She was a long-time member of St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church in Sellersburg, Indiana, where she was a member of the Ladies Club.

She was born on August 27, 1927, in Starlight, Indiana, to the late Louis and Anna (Yochem) Miller. Dolores was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Popp; sisters, Marie Miller, Marcella Weikel, Irene Miller, Rita Geraghty, and Catherine Kruer; and son-in-law, Greg Kemp.

Dolores is survived by her daughters, Barbara Popp Kemp, Darlene Popp Coleman (Mike), and Margaret Popp Tschaenn (Kevin); sons, Alvin Popp (Diane), Ralph Popp (Patty), and Anthony Popp; grandchildren, Kristin and Kendall Kemp, Amy Popp (fiancé Derek Katter), Logan Popp (Jade), Whitney Popp Forbis (Philip), Candace Popp, Shelly Popp, and Brent and Carly Tschaenn; and many nieces, nephews, good friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 10:00 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill campus) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank each of the loving caregivers that allowed Dolores to remain in her home for so many years after Carl's passing, as well as the staff at Autumn Woods Health Campus where she resided for the last two years. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Providence Jr./Sr. High School or St. John Paul II Catholic Church Building Fund.
