Dolores Katherine (Pryor) Labor, 93, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017. She and her husband, Frank, were married in 1945 in Philadelphia and later moved to Jeffersonville where they settled and raised their family of seven children. Dolores was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Dolores was an excellent seamstress and loved to crochet. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and, most importantly, being with her family and friends. She lived life to its fullest and made the most of everyday that was given to her.
She was born on December 24, 1923, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Eugene and Mary (Wood) Pryor. Dolores was also preceded in death by her husband, Jacob "Frank" Labor; son, Thomas Labor; siblings, Margaret Conway, Anna Mae Wiedner, Eugene Pryor, and Joseph Pryor; and great-granddaughter, Mikella Holsapple.
Dolores is survived by her children, Frank Labor (Mary Lou), Jack Labor (Kathleen), James Labor (Terry), Bill Labor (Olivia), Kathy Stark Haley, and Michael Labor; son-in-law, Kong Wai Shek; sister, Rose Marie Carver; grandchildren, Dolores Walker (John), Patricia Labor, Andy Vannslars, James Labor (Heather), Renee Duricy (Anthony), John Labor (Denise), Kelly Ann Watson (Stark), Desiree Labor, Travis Labor (Erin), Nicholas Stark (Taylor), Will Labor, Peggy Garbe (Andy), Annalisa Labor, Frances McHugh (Lonnie), D.J. Stark, Jackie Labor, and Katie Jean Houser (Taylor); and great-grandchildren, Joseph Heaney, Jacqueline Walker, Mataya Holsapple, Willow Holsapple, Cadence Stark, J.P. Labor, Maggie Labor, Parker Quinn Garbe, Riley Labor, Ty Labor, Wyatt Labor, Cassidy Labor, Serenity Labor, and Isa Duricy.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Thursday after 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1840 East Eighth Street, Jeffersonville). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church with cremation to follow according to Dolores' wishes.
