Dolores Ann Hollis, passed away on December 3, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on September 16, 1934, in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Dolores touched the lives of many through her work, faith, and family devotion.
Her career was marked by significant contributions as a medical assistant at St. Edwards Hospital, where she worked alongside esteemed physicians Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Wallace, as well as the Professional Arts Group. She continued her service in the medical community for Dr. Eli Hallal until her retirement. Her commitment to helping others showcased her compassion and dedication to healthcare.
Dolores was a faithful member of Scottsville Christian Church, a place where she not only worshipped but also played an active role in the community by teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her and inspiring those around her.
In her personal life, Dolores enjoyed a variety of hobbies that reflected her vibrant spirit. She found joy in quilting and canning, and loved activities such as bowling, playing cards and board games, and traveling. Her zest for life was evident in all that she pursued.
Beyond her professional and community endeavors, Dolores took great pride in her family, cherishing her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Doug Hollis, Billy (Donna) Hollis, and Shawn (Mike) Roll; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Dolores is also survived by her brothers, Charles (Becky) Redden and Robert "Bob" (Carla) Redden, and her sister-in-law, Ruth Redden.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 71 years, William Eugene Hollis; her parents, Charles Redden and Grace Hollowell Redden; and her brother, Johnny Redden.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue on Monday after 1:00 pm at Scottsville Christian Church (7857 Scottsville Road, Floyds Knobs). Her Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, at the church with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Borden.
