Dolores Ann"Dorie"(Rake) Bachman

Dolores Ann "Dorie" (Rake) Bachman, 86, a devoted wife and mother, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, August 17, 2016. She was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville. Dorie had a strong Catholic faith and was known for her "homemade dressing" at the annual church picnic.

Dorie was born on November 30, 1929, in Starlight, Indiana, to the late Frank and Emma (Leuthart) Rake. She was also recently preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herman "Junie" Bachman.

She is survived by her children, Becky Kepley (Tim) and Tim Bachman (Kara); sisters, Marcella Popp and Bernice Kleehamer; and grandchildren, Brian Kepley, Dane Bachman, and Elaina Bachman.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9:00 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church (2500 St. Mary's Drive NE, Lanesville), with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
