Dolores Ann (Jacobi) Abbott

Dolores Ann (Jacobi) Abbott, 83, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017. She was a life-long resident of New Albany and a retired registered nurse from St. Joseph Infirmary, Louisville, Kentucky. Dolores was a 1951 graduate of New Albany High School and a 1954 graduate of the Nazareth School of Nursing. She was a life-time member of the VFW Post 1693 Ladies Auxiliary as well as the American Legion Post 28 Auxiliary.
She was born on December 5, 1933, to the late John C. and Mary A. (Baumgardner) Jacobi. Dolores was also preceded in death by her husband, Armond Abbott; and sister, Kathleen Bodman.
She is survived by her children, John Lozon (Sheila) and Diana (Abbott) Huber; grandchildren, Jonathan Lozon (Heather), Emily Lozon-Forster (Bill), Jamie Huber (Allyson), Katherine Lozon-McDermott (Matt), and Lisa (Huber) Klingsmith (Chris); five great grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Jacobi (Gayle) and Maureen Rue (Don); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) and on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 West Daisy Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church, and she will be laid to rest privately at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
