Dolly P Cosby

Dolly P. Cosby, 87, went to be home with her Heavenly Father on July 31, 2017. Dolly was born May 10, 1930, in Henderson, KY, the daughter of the late Arnold and Ida Shelton. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson, KY. Dolly graduated from Douglas High School and was a nurse for over 40 years at St. Mary's Hospital and Methodist Hospital. She enjoyed going to yard sales and collecting antiques. Dolly was a loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which she taught many life lessons and Dolly will be truly missed.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her son, Wayne "Big Dud" Cosby; daughters, Paula Cosby, Karen Cosby and Thera Cosby and brothers, Arnold Shelton and Clifton Shelton.

Dolly leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Anthony "QB" Cosby, Kevin (Marilyn) Cosby and Theron "Kaky" Cosby; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Curtis of Lexington, KY and Marjorie Cheeks of Chicago, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, August 7, 2017, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 20 S. Elm Street, Henderson, KY from 10am-12pm with a celebration of Dolly's life beginning at 12pm.

Burial will follow at Fernwood Cemetery, 920 Madison Street, Henderson, KY.
