Dixie Rickman Jr., 84, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. He was born on October 24, 1931 in Gallatin, Tennessee to the late Dixie and Louise A. (Harper) Rickman. Dixie worked in maintenance at the former Silver Crest Hospital for many years, and also was the sheriff in orange county at one time. He was a great caregiver for the children, and enjoyed fishing, cooking, hunting, and time with his family.
Along with his parents, Dixie was preceded in death by his brothers; John, Earl Sr., and Wendell Rickman. He is survived by his loving niece; Anna Robert (Samuel); great-nieces, Anjelic Robinson (Robert), Le-Ahna Robert, Jasmine Murphy (Travis), along with a host of nieces, nephews, great- nieces, and great-nephews.
Cremation was chosen and entrusted with Newcomer Funeral Home. Please don't forget to smell the roses.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in care of the family to Anna Robert.
