Diane Stewart

Diane Lynn Stewart, aged 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Born on March 24, 1954, in Louisville to Joe and Betty (Miller) Moody, Diane dedicated her life to family, friends, and the simple joys of nature.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Diane was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. She found happiness in caring for the wildlife around her, often feeding squirrels and birds. Diane cherished spending time with her loved ones, whether it was enjoying shopping excursions, embracing new adventures, or sharing meaningful conversations on the porch with her son. She delighted in attending football games with her son, visiting the Smoky Mountains, going to the boat with her sisters, watching her great-granddaughter play softball, and regularly attending church.

Diane is remembered as a steadfast presence—always ready with a comforting shoulder and a welcoming home. She eagerly anticipated the arrival of her great-grandchild and took great joy in the company of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Betty Jo Moody; her husband, Dale Stewart, Sr.; her daughter, Patricia Campbell; her great-granddaughter, Lakelynn; and her siblings, Betty and Billy.

Diane leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her sons, Dale (Christy) Stewart, Jr., James (Amber) Stewart, and Gomer; grandchildren Gregory, Trinity, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Dale III, Joseph, Alex, Skylynn, and Bebe; great-grandchildren Moody, Deebo, LJ, and Zaharia; siblings Leon, Brenda (Bobby), Jim (Teresa), Denise, and Connie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, at 11:30 a.m. at the same location, followed by burial at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.

In honor of Diane's memory, the family kindly requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
