Diane Bezy Martinson, a cherished soul whose life was defined by love, dedication, and kindness, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Greenville, IN. Born on July 27, 1955, in Louisville, KY, Diane’s legacy is one of unwavering commitment to her family and her community, a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Floyd Central High School, Diane pursued her passion for healing and caring by earning an associate degree in nursing from Indiana University Southeast (I.U.S). Her career was a testament to her compassion and dedication, as she devoted 44 years of loyal service to Norton Children’s Hospital. There, she nurtured countless young lives with kindness and empathy, leaving an indelible mark on her patients and colleagues alike.
Beyond the walls of her professional life, Diane was a loving mother, devoted daughter, and compassionate grandmother "Didi". Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in watching each member grow and succeed. She found joy in the simple, precious moments spent with her grandbabies—Bennett Ferree, Remington Love, Emma Ferree, and Mia Love—whether she was in the stands at a ballgame, attending school events, crafting side by side, or simply showing up with endless love and encouragement to make every moment special.
Diane’s kitchen was a haven where she expressed her love through cooking and baking, making holidays and birthdays unforgettable celebrations for the entire family. Gardening held a special place in Diane’s heart, and just as she nurtured her family, she lovingly cared for the plants and flowers that filled her personal sanctuary.
Diane is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Rachel (Richard) Ferree and Hannah (Gage) Love; her sister, Karen (Philip) Sims; her brothers, Charles (Susan) Bezy, Dennis (Rose) Bezy, and Larry Bezy; and stepfather, Donald Uhl, Sr. Their hearts carry her memory forward, a beacon of strength and love.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles "Butch" Bezy; her mother, Louise Bezy Uhl; and her grandparents, Clarence Bezy, Marie Bezy, Mary Pfalzer, and Edwin Pfalzer, whose legacy she honored through a life well-lived.
A memorial gathering will take place Friday, May 22nd, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, with a Nurse Honor Guard to take place at 6:00pm, at Newcomer Cremations Funerals and Receptions, Southern Indiana Chapel, 3309, Ballard Lane, New Albany Indiana 47150. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, 10:30am at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 5719 St. Mary's Rd, Floyds Knobs Indiana, 47119.

Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and while she may no longer walk beside us, the warmth of her love and the lessons she imparted will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends forever. Her story is one of beautiful memories, boundless compassion, and an unbreakable bond of family—a story that will never fade but only grow richer with time.
