Diana Verrick, a cherished mother, grandmother, and beloved pillar of her community, peacefully passed away on April 17, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 14, 1953, in Jeffersonville, IN, Diana's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and kindness that touched all who knew her.
Throughout her more than 20 years as a seamstress at Morgan Manufacturing, Diana’s exceptional talent and meticulous craftsmanship were admired by many. Yet, her true artistry shone brightest within the walls of her home, where she had an extraordinary gift for making every family event a special and unforgettable occasion. She delighted in thrifting, exploring flea markets, Goodwill stores, and yard sales, always seeking treasures and inspirations for her next sewing project or a delicious meal to share. Cooking was not merely a routine—it was her way of nurturing those she loved, showing affection through the aromas and flavors that filled her kitchen.
Known for her loyalty, honesty, and unwavering kindness, Diana was a devoted wife, compassionate daughter, and a supportive sister. She embraced the roles of aunt and friend with warmth and grace, embodying a spirit that was honest, hardworking, and affectionate. Among her proudest accomplishments was watching her family grow and thrive, a testament to her lifelong dedication and love.
Diana’s legacy is lovingly carried on by those who survive her and hold her memory dear: her sons, Eric Verrick and Larry Verrick; her mother, Elizabeth "Betty" E. McGinnis; her grandchildren Courtney Verrick, Justin (Amanda) Verrick, Tyler (Ashley) Verrick, and Kyle (Mikayla) Verrick; and great-grandchildren Grace Dean, Neveah Lash, Brianna Lash, Allison Lash, Ella Verrick, Mia Verrick, Liam Verrick, Levi Verrick, Nora Verrick, and Raine Williams. Her extended family includes great nieces Nicole (Andrew) Hoke, great-great-nephew Jaydon Hoke, great-great-niece Malia Hoke, cousin Caroline Story, cousin Jackline Shannon, brothers Robbie McGinnis and Ronnie (Vickie) McGinnis, brother-in-law Robert “Gary” Jackson, niece Dorothy “Elaine” Sanders, as well as many other beloved relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Diana was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Verrick, Sr., her father Grover L. Deweese, siblings Danny Deweese, Beverly “Becky” Jackson, Bea Jones, and Katie Deweese, and nephew Robert “Jeff” Jackson.
Her passing leaves a profound void, yet her spirit remains a guiding light—an enduring symbol of love, resilience, and selfless devotion. Her family recalls with heartfelt tenderness how she could transform ordinary moments into treasured memories, binding generations together through her gentle heart and generous soul.
Friends and family are invited to honor Diana’s remarkable life with a visitation on April 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150.
