In loving memory of Diana Lynn Mayer, who graced this world with her presence from January 9, 1950, until her peaceful passing on July 24, 2025, when she was reunited with her soulmate Rocky. Diana lived a life characterized by love, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her family.
Known for her nurturing spirit, Diana made the neighborhood children feel as though they were her own, generously sharing her warmth and care with those around her. Her daughters and grandchildren, whom she affectionately referred to as her "ladybugs," were the very essence of her being. They were not only her pride but also her enduring inspiration. A strong woman in both character and resolve, Diana personified the cornerstone of her family, playing the role of a beloved mother and grandmother who championed their dreams and aspirations.
Diana had a zest for life that was uniquely her own. She reveled in simple pleasures, finding joy in playing slot machines and engaging in board games. Shopping brought her happiness, each excursion filled with laughter and memories. Yet, it was the moments spent at the cemetery, reflections by the graveside of her beloved husband and soulmate, Rocky, that offered her solace. These visits brought warmth to her heart, a gentle reminder of their unbreakable bond, and a smile to her face.
As a proud role model, Diana instilled values of strength and compassion in her family, guiding them with an unshakeable belief in their potential. Her legacy is one of profound impact, nurturing generations to come and setting a standard of love that will echo through her family forever.
She was preceded in death by her soulmate, Rocky Mayer and her parents, George and Shirley Atzinger, Jr.
Diana leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving daughters, Joy and (John) Solomon and Hope (Mark Adkins) Mayer; grandchildren, Dawn (Tyler) Beter and Bobby Winebrenner; siblings, Anna Atzinger, Cathy Shannon, David "Tony" (Linda) Atzinger and Eric Atzinger and several nieces and nephews.
The celebration of Diana's life will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home in Southwest Louisville, with visitation from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on August 3, 2025.
