Devonna Denise Evans

Devonna Denise Evans "DeeDee" was born May 15, 1979 to Mildred V. McFolley and George McMurray in Louisville, KY. She gave her life to Christ in July 1991 and was baptized into the membership of Mercy Seat Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Usherboard and the youth ministry. Dee went on to graduate from Doss High School in 1997 and later received an Associate's Degree from National College. She will be remembered as a loving mother to her son Bubby as well as an activist for Autism Awareness. Dee was a die-hard Louisville Cardinal and Green Bay Packer fan. Her one of a kind personality and infectious smile will always be remembered.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred V. McFolley.

Survivors include her son, Marcus Evans Jr. "Bubby"; loving companion, John Huguley and his daughter, Jayla; step-father, David McFolley; siblings, Lynn (Eric) Brown, David L. (Shameeka) McFolley, Kelly McMurray, Mark McMurray, Eric McMurray; mother in-law, Georgia S. Evans; brother in-laws, Arthur W. Scott and Bobby Evans Jr.; her father, George McMurray; Marcus Evans Sr. and a host of family and friends.


Visitation will be Sunday, December 6, 2015, from 1pm-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of Devonna's life will be at 12pm at Lampkins Chapel C.M.E. Church (2738 Algonquin Parkway). Burial will follow at Green Meadows Cemetery.
