From his earliest days, Dennis found comfort in the tranquility of the outdoors, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. He often enjoyed moments to himself accompanied by a good cigarette. 

Dennis was a loving and devoted family man. As a dad, his support and guidance shaped the lives of those he held dear. His daughter, Denise French, carries forward his nurturing spirit, a living testament to his enduring love. He was a proud grandpa to Bethany Vincent and Shawn Bishop and great-grandpa to Chloe Burton and Donovan Showalter, whom he adored beyond words.

Family gatherings were enriched by Dennis’s presence, where his warmth and kindness created an atmosphere of genuine connection. His brother, Kenneth Wheat, along with nephew Jake Wheat and niece Jessica Smith, were close during the times they shared, always appreciating his gentle wit and calm demeanor. Among his circle of friends, none represented loyalty better than Phillip Allgood, Dennis’s best friend. 

Dennis was born to Jack and Leona Wheat, whose love and values he carried throughout his life. Though they have passed on, their legacy lived on in Dennis’s character and the deep bonds he nurtured with his family and friends.
