Dennis B. Ellis

Dennis B. Ellis, 71, passed away at home on February 7, 2015. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Standard Gravure after 30 years as a pressman and also from the Horseshoe Casino after 12 years as a poker dealer. Dennis was an avid fan of UK basketball, horse racing, and the Kentucky Derby. He loved poker and most of all spending time with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Turner; step-father, John Hausman; father, Dale Ellis and brother, Preston Ellis.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Letitia "Tish" Ellis; 2 sons, Darren (Pam), Damian (Nancy) and daughter Brittany Dickens (Mike); 5 grandchildren, Jacob, Landon, Kelsey, Layne and Luke; 2 brothers, Jordan (Betsy) Ellis and John Hausman; 2 sisters, Pam (Steve) Ryan and Leslie (Phil) Ellis, and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, February 12, 2015, from 1pm-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) with a celebration of his life beginning at 7pm.
