Denise M Gagel

Denise "Deni" Mueller Gagel, age 74 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 surround by her loving family. Deni was born on October 2, 1950, she was the beloved daughter of the late Carl and Rosemary Richardson Mueller. 

A passionate educator, Deni retired from JCPS after years in the classroom. She was known by those closest to her for her love of gardening, baking, reading, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. Her favorite name to be called was grandma which could be seen through the happiness and love she exuded when spending time with or speaking of her many grandchildren.

Deni was a mother to three children, Shawn Gagel (Elizabeth), Casey Gagel, and Joshua Gagel (Susan). She was a cherished grandmother to Allie McBroom (Josh), Bailey Dericks (Cody), Cobey Gagel, Sydney Gagel, Trenton Gagel, Vivian Gagel, Colton Gagel, Victoria Gagel, Violet Gagel, and Valor Gagel. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Molly and Jack McBroom. She leaves behind a large family, including brothers, sisters, and many other family and friends, all of whom will continue to cherish her memory long after her time on this earth.

In addition to her parents, Deni is preceded in death by her sister, Nancy; along with many other extended family members.

Her wit, passion, and immense love for her family will forever be remembered.

Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. Graveside services will be private.
