It is with great sadness that the family of Delona (Dee) Glas announces her passing on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at the age of 71 in Vero Beach, Fl. after her battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Dee was born on March 16th, 1948 in Louisville, Ky. to Carl and Ella Mae (Woosley) Renfrow. She attended Fern Creek H.S. class of 1966. Married Henry Glas in 1973, and they raised three daughters. She received a Business degree from Spencerian College in 1969, then was employed at Smith's Transfer for 20 years. In 1993, after earning an R.N. degree from University of Kentucky, she began working at O.L.O.P. until 2015 when she retired.
Dees' passions were sewing, quilting, gardening, shopping, and taking road trips with her husband and best friend Henry. She was well known for her love of family, friends, and animals. Her kind and compassionate heart, gentle nature, infectious smile and laugh left an everlasting impression.
Dee was preceded in death by her father Carl, and mother Ella Mae. She is survived by her husband Henry, three daughters Tammy (Jeff), Katrina (James), Johanna (Kyle), her brother Norman (Lorene), and her five grandchildren Blair, Blake, Chase, Odin and Atlas.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens (279 Landis Lane, Mt Washington, KY 40047).
Per Dee's wishes memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association (13102 Eastpoint Park Blvd Suite 101 Louisville, KY 40223) and/or plant a tree in her honor.
