With hearts heavy yet grateful for a life so beautifully lived, we remember Della Jean Griffin, who passed away on May 28, 2026. Born on July 19, 1976, Della was a vibrant soul whose cheerfulness and bubbling spirit could light up any room she entered. She was truly full of life, touching the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.
Della had a rare gift — she never met a stranger. Her warmth and kindness effortlessly extended to everyone she encountered, creating instant connections and lasting friendships. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, inspiring all around her to embrace each day with joy and openness.
A creative at heart, Della found immense joy in crafts, immersing herself in colors, textures, and the satisfying act of creation. Music was a constant companion to her, and she cherished moments spent listening to melodies that stirred her soul. Journaling was another peaceful outlet where she expressed her thoughts, dreams, and reflections, preserving her unique perspective on the world.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Felker and her best friend, Melissa Miles.
Della is survived by her father, Billy Felker; brother, Alan Felker; life partner, Megan Griffin and son, Xander Griffin.
Services to honor Della’s life will begin with a visitation held on June 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. Her funeral service will follow the next day, on June 27, beginning at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on June 27 at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
Della’s vibrant spirit, her artful hands, and her loving soul will be sorely missed. Yet, in remembering her, we find comfort in the joyous imprint she leaves on our hearts — the memory of a woman who truly embodied warmth, creativity, and the joy of connection. May we carry forward the light she shared so freely with the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made toward Della's funeral expenses.
