Debra Nan (Casner) McAfee, known affectionately as Debbie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the age of 77. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, steadfast love, and gentle presence touched all who had the blessing to know her.
Born on June 13, 1949, to Clarence Casner and Louise (Roberts) Casner McClure, both of whom preceded her in death, Debbie grew up with a strong sense of family and faith. She was also predeceased by her sister, Rebecca. Debbie’s legacy is beautifully woven through the lives of the family she so dearly loved and by the countless memories she helped create.
Debbie is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Phil McAfee, who was by her side in every step of their journey together. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Darin Jewell, Christian Jewell (Joni), and Seth Jewell (Jennifer), as well as her step-daughter Nancy Pardue (Joe) and step-son John McAfee (Rae Lynn).
Her grandchildren—Zarin Jewell, Samantha Gonzalez, Chase Barnes, Matthew Jewell, Ashlyn Jewell, Brooklyn Jewell, Carson Jewell, Jett Jewell, Fox Warren, Juliana McAfee, and Keller McAfee—each held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in celebrating their accomplishments, nurturing their dreams, and guiding them with her wisdom. Debbie’s legacy extends to her treasured great-grandchildren, Karliegh, Neveah, and Avery.
Debbie's brother, Keith Casner, mourns her passing as does her wide circle of cherished friends.
A longtime member of Graceland Baptist Church, Debbie was known for her deep and abiding faith. A fierce prayer warrior and devoted follower of Jesus, she offered her compassion, support, and prayers generously to those around her. Her artistic spirit found expression in her love for reading, sewing, and tending her colorful flower garden. Friends and family alike recall her unforgettable smile—a smile that illuminated every room she entered and drew people closer to her.
Family was always at the heart of Debbie's life. She looked forward to every gathering, ensuring that each occasion was marked by warmth and a sense of belonging. She was a constant presence in the lives of her loved ones, faithfully attending their extracurricular ballgames and special events, always their most enthusiastic supporter.
