Debra "Debbie" Mayhew

Debra "Debbie" Mayhew, a cherished 61-year-old soul from Fairdale, Kentucky, left us peacefully on August 2, 2025. Her spirit touched the lives of many, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Debbie was not just a mother, wife, sister, and friend; she was the heart of her family. Known for her warmth and unwavering support, she dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. Her days were filled with joy and simple pleasures—watching Adam the Woo on YouTube, mastering video games on her PS4, and sharing laughter with her family over home-cooked meals. Whether it was enjoying the sun while tanning or savoring her morning coffee with a cigarette, those quiet moments brought her immense joy.

Born on March 4, 1964, in Louisville, Kentucky, Debbie was raised by her parents, Carl and Ruth (Edelen) Cox. Throughout her life, she displayed an unyielding strength and was always ready to express her opinions with honesty. She lovingly cared for her son Erin and brother Ronnie until their passing, as well as her siblings growing up, embodying the essence of a caretaker. Debbie’s nurturing spirit and fierce love for those around her ensured that no one ever felt alone in their struggles. She will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.

Debbie is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband Eric Vaughn Mayhew, Sr., and her dear children Erin, Erica, and Marsha, alongside her brother Ronnie. Her legacy continues through her loving daughter, Emily (Cameron) Powell; sons, Eric Mayhew, Jr. and Derrick (Leslie) Mayhew; step-son, Wayne Mansfield; as well as her supportive sisters Anna (Jody) Harris, Teresa Cox, and Missy Reynolds, and brothers Danny Cox, Allen (Becky) Cox, and David (Tammy) Cox. She will also be missed by her furbaby, Babygirl, and a wide network of family and friends who will cherish her memory forever.
