Debra Louise Gowers, 59, of Coxs Creek, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021.
She was born on April 23, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky to Ernest Hertel and Ethel (Hardin) Welch. Debra worked for Louisville Bedding for 15 years and then went to work for The US Postal Service until present. Her son and grandchildren were her world, she would do anything for them. Debra had such an infectious laugh that you couldn't help but laugh yourself.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David G. Gowers; father, Ernest Everett Hertel; mother, Ethel Mae Welch; brother, Ernest Hertel; and sister, Donna Burden.
Debra is survived by her son, David R. Gowers; grandson, Matthew Gowers; granddaughter, Kara Gowers; father, John (Joyce) Welch; brother, Johnny (Lisa) Welch; sisters, Barbara Coogle, Connie Hertel, Rita (Larry) Crowe, and Vickey (Ed) Welch; brothers-in-law, Kenny (Patty) Gowers and Tony (Barbara) Gowers; daughter-in-law, Stacy Bowman; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, Post Office Family, and friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
