Deborah Lynn (Hanke) Alvey,
Spent 67 years on this earth, not one day wasted. She passed away peacefully on March 20, 2020 in her Louisville, KY home, lifted up by family and friends.
Debbie was a devout Catholic born on November 8th, 1952 to the late Omer and Alice Hanke, and was preceded in death by her baby bother, Danny Hanke, and three powerful, joyous and sharp-tongued sisters, Brenda Payne, Peggy Hearne, and Patricia Clark.
She is survived by her children, Chad Alvey (Keisha), Bridget Kelly (Steven), and Allison Daunis; niece/sister, Terri Allen; brother-in-law, Thomas Clark; longtime companion, Mike Crotty; grandchildren, Illa Daunis, Samuel Alvey, Josie Daunis, Elijah Alvey, Sophia Daunis, Violet Kelly, Jack Kelly, and Paisley Daunis. If you met her once, you were family, too.
Given these extraordinary times, the immediate family will be holding a private memorial service at Louisville Memorial Gardens where she will rest, and have already begun stockpiling enough spirits for a proper celebration of her life, to be held as soon as all her friends and family can come together once more.
When you're visited by a cardinal bird or feel the warmth of sunshine on your face, know that "every little thing is gonna be alright" and give that penny slot one more lucky pull. Expressions of sympathy can by made to the compassionate heroes at Hosparus of Louisville (hosparushealth.org/donate)
